Hudawi by HADIA

Hudawi Mobile App Privacy Policy

This policy explains how HADIA Center for Social Excellence handles personal information when eligible members use Hudawi, HADIA's private alumni-network mobile application for Android and iOS.

Last updated: 7 August 2026

Hudawi is designed for verified members of the HADIA alumni community. We do not sell or rent Hudawi member information. Profile visibility is controlled through the app and some information is shared with other authenticated members only when the relevant visibility or connection rules allow it.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Hudawi mobile application operated by HADIA Center for Social Excellence, the administrative body of the Hudawis Association for Devoted Islamic Activities. It is separate from HADIA's general website and donation privacy policy.

Hudawi is an alumni service intended for eligible HADIA members. It is not directed to children.

2. Information we handle

Account and authentication information

  • Email address used to confirm eligibility and send a one-time sign-in code.
  • Account status, verification status, sign-in timestamps and session information.
  • Short-lived one-time-code records used to protect the sign-in process.

Alumni and profile information

  • Name, profile photograph, batch, chapter, location and alumni membership details.
  • Contact information such as email address, mobile number, WhatsApp number and permitted social links.
  • Education, qualifications, work, organisation, skills, expertise, languages, business and professional information.
  • Other information maintained in HADIA's authoritative alumni register, including information that is not displayed to ordinary members.

Content and activity

  • Profile updates, correction requests, privacy preferences and notification preferences.
  • Community memberships, join requests, posts, replies, reactions and uploaded images.
  • Connections, event responses, reports and other actions needed to provide and moderate the network.
  • Recommendation interactions, such as impressions, profile opens, contact actions and dismissals, when personalised recommendations are enabled.

Device and technical information

  • Push-notification token, device platform and the time a registered notification device was last seen.
  • Technical request, security and diagnostic information ordinarily processed by our servers and infrastructure.

3. How we use information

  • Verify member eligibility, authenticate users and keep accounts secure.
  • Provide the alumni directory, member profiles, connections, communities, events and notifications.
  • Apply profile-visibility choices and connection-based access rules.
  • Personalise member recommendations when that preference is enabled.
  • Review profile corrections, community requests, reports and account-deletion requests.
  • Prevent abuse, investigate security incidents, enforce platform rules and maintain audit records.
  • Operate, troubleshoot and improve Hudawi.

4. How information is visible to members

Hudawi is a member network. Basic identity and membership information may be visible to authenticated members so that they can find and recognise one another. Additional contact, location, education, professional, skills and social-link information is shown according to your saved profile-visibility settings and applicable connection rules.

Community posts, replies and reactions are visible to people who are permitted to access the relevant community. Administrators and authorised moderators may access information needed to operate the app, review requests, investigate reports and protect members.

5. Service providers and other disclosures

We use service providers to run Hudawi. Depending on the configured production service, these providers may process limited information on our behalf for database and application hosting, image storage, email delivery, push-notification delivery, security and operational support. These may include Amazon Web Services for image storage, Expo and the relevant mobile-platform notification provider for push delivery, and Google or another configured mail provider for sign-in emails.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of members or HADIA, or as part of a properly authorised organisational change. We do not sell or rent Hudawi member data.

6. Device permissions

  • Photos: requested only when you choose an image for your profile or eligible community content.
  • Notifications: requested so Hudawi can notify you about enabled account, community, connection and event activity.

You can decline or later change these permissions in your device settings. Hudawi does not request access to your contacts, precise location, microphone or camera for its current features.

7. Retention and account deletion

We retain information while it is needed to provide Hudawi, maintain HADIA's alumni records, meet legal or organisational obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and protect the platform. Some short-lived authentication records expire automatically. Recommendation-interaction records are configured to expire after 180 days and are removed earlier when personalised recommendations are turned off.

You can submit an account-deletion request inside Hudawi from Profile options > Request account deletion. If the request is approved, the Hudawi member account is marked deleted and its active sessions are revoked. HADIA's underlying authoritative alumni-membership record is not automatically erased because it is maintained separately as an institutional alumni record. Content, moderation, security and audit records may also be retained where they remain necessary for the purposes described above or where retention is required by law.

To ask about deletion of other information or to understand what can be removed from HADIA's records, email hadiacentral@gmail.com with the subject “Hudawi data deletion request”. We will assess the request against applicable law, institutional obligations and the rights of other members.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect Hudawi information. These include verified email sign-in, limited-duration sessions, access controls, role-based administrative permissions, audit records and encrypted HTTPS connections. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so members should protect their email account and report suspected misuse promptly.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Review and update editable profile information in Hudawi.
  • Submit a correction request for protected alumni information.
  • Control profile visibility and personalised recommendations through Privacy settings.
  • Control notification categories in the app and permission through device settings.
  • Request access, correction or deletion by contacting HADIA.

Available privacy rights may vary by location. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request and may retain information where permitted or required by law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Hudawi's features, providers or legal obligations change. We will update the date shown at the top of this page and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
